Why Fonio is Perfect for Suhoor?
Suhoor is the most important meal before fasting, and choosing the right foods can make all the difference in how you feel throughout the day. Fonio, a gluten-free ancient grain from West Africa, is an excellent choice for suhoor because:
It's Easy to Digest: Unlike heavier grains, fonio is light on the stomach, making it ideal for pre-dawn meals.
Slow-Releasing Energy: Its complex carbs provide a steady source of fuel, preventing energy crashes during fasting.High in Fiber & Nutrients: Fonio is rich in iron, magnesium, and essential amino acids, helping to keep you full longer.Quick to Cook:Ready in just 5 minutes, it's perfect for busy mornings.
When cooked in creamy coconut milk and paired with fresh mango and berries, this fonio bowl becomes a wholesome, naturally sweet, and satisfying suhoor option.
